St. Anne’s Hill

Saint Anne’s Hill Historic District is part of the Historic Inner East neighborhood in Dayton, Ohio, United States. St. Anne’s Hill constitutes an excellent grouping of both vernacular and high style Victorian residences which date roughly from 1860 to the early 20th century. Some structures, such as the Bossler Mansion in the Second Empire, style, are the best of their style found in the city. The neighborhood is also significant for its German heritage.

St. Anne’s Hill is an 11-square-block neighborhood within two minutes of Downtown and major highways. The neighborhood houses Bomberger Recreation Center (with is swimming pool), the Liederkranz-Turner German Society Hall, the High Street Art Gallery with is home to the Dayton Society of Painters and Sculptors, and Stivers Intermediate School, a music magnet school for the Dayton public schools system.

The St. Anne’s Hill Historic Society is an active organization whose goal is improving the area. A biannual home tour is held to provide the neighborhood to potential buyers interested in restored historic homes. A monthly newsletter is published to keep the residents up-to-date on current projects and events in the neighborhood and to encourage their participation.
