After Ryan Qualls posed for me I asked him how he came to be a National Park Service Ranger.
“I started out as a volunteer at Dayton History. Then I started working for the National Park Service as a student employee.
One of my assignments after a few years with the park service was at the Wright Brothers National Memorial in the Outer Banks. Now I manage the Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park visitor centers and the interpretive programming.”
I loved hearing that Ryan’s volunteering lead to a great career.

Interpretive displays, interactive exhibits and the park introductory film are all available at the WDIC. A small gift shop is also on site and is stocked with souvenirs and books related to the Wrights and Paul Laurence Dunbar.
