Ignore the shame and just find what works

February 3, 2016 By Jason Harrison

Somewhere along the line–after I began personal training, but before I started taking the profession seriously–I noticed that if I drank more water, I felt better. My skin felt better, my trips to the bathroom were more, um, comfortable, and I had more energy in the gym.

photo-1447600514716-ca6f3974c346

Rewind to about ten years or so ago, when I bought a souvenir “BPA free” water bottle at MIT during a quick trip through Boston. I didn’t think much about that bottle until I realized how much better I felt when I was hydrated, so I dusted it off and it never left my side for years.

I consumed plenty of water and always had my bottle at the gym, at work, and in the car during road trips. When we moved back to Dayton last year, however, I broke the bottle. No big deal, right? I had been drinking enough water for years now, and the habit was deeply engrained. Not only that, but I’m, like, a fitness guy. I KNOW the value of staying hydrated.

But my water consumption plummeted. In recent months I’ve knowingly watched as my digestion suffered, skin suffered, and overall wellness suffered. And this wasn’t some deep mystery: I knew exactly what was going on.

“I drank a lot more water when I had my green MIT bottle,” I’d say to myself. And yet the days would march on. I was smart enough to try different solutions, like other water bottles or even big glasses to sit on my desk while working from home. Nothing seemed to work.

Then it finally dawned on me. Why don’t I just order another wide-mouthed BPA-free bottle? I jumped on Amazon, placed the order, and received my bottle just a few days later. It’s the same water bottle I had been using for years, only without the logos or branding.

And guess what’s been happening the last the several days?

Yep, I’ve been drinking more water.

Let’s take a moment to deconstruct this. I know I need to drink water and I’ve experienced how good it makes me feel. I know that I drank more water when I had that particular bottle, and I was conscious of the fact that my hydration plummeted when I lost my MIT security blanket.

Yet I took no action, despite the fact that I placed probably a couple dozen Amazon orders between the time that I broke my bottle and when I finally ordered another one. The solution was right in front of my face, I was aware of it, and I refused to act.

Why?

I’m not sure, exactly. All I know is this is something that we all do. We KNOW we need to work out. We KNOW we need to eat better. We KNOW we need to get more sleep. Often the solutions are right in front of us, but we refuse to act. My theory is that in my case I was selling myself the fiction that my water intake couldn’t have been regulated solely by my water bottle. Certainly I could replace what worked with something else and get the same results. Right?

photo-1429056147644-31d142d21ac2

I was wrong. I delayed solving the problem for months because I felt quiet shame about the silliness of a thing, an object, being so closely linked to a healthy habit like water consumption. Had I ordered a replacement bottle right away, I could have saved myself a lot of discomfort.

You might have something in your life like my MIT water bottle. Maybe it’s your favorite workout pants that you’ve stained and no longer feel comfortable wearing, so you’re actually working out less. Maybe it’s a kitchen knife that you somehow lost along the way and now you just don’t feel like cooking as much. Whatever it is, if there’s something in your life preventing you from doing what you know you need to do, but it’s something that you’ve labeled “silly,” I have some pretty simple advice.

Get over it.

Yeah, just get over it. Maybe there is something silly about the fact that I don’t seem capable of drinking enough water unless I have a very particular container. But it doesn’t really matter, does it?

Find what works, and do it–no matter how silly you think it is.

Dive Bar Tuesday – Phone Booth Lounge

February 2, 2016 By Brian Petro

And the the night began: with a cocktail or two).

And the the night began: with a cocktail or two).

Since the team started working on Dive Bar Tuesdays, one bar has been at the top of our list to get to sooner than later. It is one that we all discovered while working together and we had been attending for a while. The location was relatively central to where we all lived, the food and drink prices were right, and the atmosphere was incredibly relaxed. Schedules did not align, especially since on Tuesday nights the bar was packed. Packed to the point people were making reservations. Reservations? In a dive bar? When Tuesday Night Trivia is so popular that majority of the tables in the place are set aside, something special has to be happening. This week we were finally able to make it to the Phone Booth Lounge in Kettering. It was much quieter than the last few times we tried to enjoy the calm atmosphere we were accustomed to.

The Phone Booth just exudes calm. It could be the fact that they have been serving customers for the last five decades. That’s right, they have been sitting there taking care of customers since 1964. The wood paneled walls and stained ceiling tiles tell that tale well. And not in a “this place needs an update” way. It is just comfortable, like a well-worn sweater. The bartenders are friendly, going the distance to help me find a whiskey I enjoyed (I was feeling some Bushmill’s) and rooting through the beer cooler for me. There were photos of bands surrounding the stage, and lit signs indicating all of the upcoming events being held there. There is live music all weekend, including a Blues Jam on Thursday nights. Monday through Wednesday they have beer specials and something different each night; Wii bowling on Mondays, trivia on Tuesday, and warm up the stage on Wednesday with karaoke. This month they will also be teaming up with the Dayton Blues Society for their Second Annual Youth Showcase on February 20th.

Their cocktail menu reflects their claim of being the Home of Kettering Rock and Roll. The shot list falls on the more traditionally named side, with Black and Blues, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Sweet Tarts. When you look over to the cocktail menu, however, the rock comes out. You can find some Sweet Emotions, possibly Blinded by the Light, or end up Knocking on Heaven’s Door. There is a list of beers, wines, and other liquors they have on the back, but it is not a complete list. There is one thing that they took down that I really enjoyed using to see all their beers; a beer shelf that hung over the bar. It allowed you to look at the selection of specialty beers and be ready to order on a moment’s notice. This is also one of the few bars I have been to where all of the liquor is not up where it can be immediately seen. The hiding of the complete beer and liquor menu may just be a clever ploy to get you to chat with the staff.

So. Many. Nachos.

So. Many. Nachos.

The food menu is a perfect complement to the space. It is all very comfortable food. You are not going to hit many surprises on it, unless you order the nacho platter without understanding what you are asking for. There was other food on the table, like hot dog pretzel bites and fried mushrooms, but we all turned our heads when the nachos came. It was big enough to serve the five people that were sitting there, and there were enough toppings on it to hold it all together. Even after nibbling on it for the better part of an hour, we did not finish it. It was one hell of a surprise to see on the table, and makes me curious as to what other surprises may be lurking in that kitchen.

Why is this place packed on a Tuesday night? It is definitely more than for just the trivia. Good food and good company are part of the equation, even if you come alone. You have great bartenders to talk with, and there is pool, darts, and on Monday nights, bowling to keep you occupied. You can admire the art show on the ceiling tiles through the building, some of which has been there for years. In the warmer months there is a patio for your enjoyment. For a low key night with friends, it is the perfect place to meet, get cozy, and hang out for a few hours.

The Phone Booth Lounge is located at 155 E. Stroop Rd., Kettering, OH 45459. You can call for information at (937) 298-8712.

Ariake is the Spot… Raw or Hot!

February 2, 2016 By Dayton937 Leave a Comment

Sushi Chef Sasaki

The original owners of Akashi on Harshman Rd. are back with a raw vengeance, literally.  Their newest restaurant, Ariake Sushi Bar is a great spot, raw or hot !

Eat it raw you say?  Great Sushi,  or fully cooked Japanese specialties you say? Hot Soups?  That’s right up our exotic food alley!  Hungry Jax, Big Ragu and Chef House never miss a chance for good Food Adventure.  Expert Chefs and cooks, giving you an authentic taste of Japan.

The restaurant is nestled into a small strip mall across from the Dayton Mall near Prestige Plaza.   Ariake is starting to gain a loyal following and is a fun place to explore the bounds of your tastebuds.  Originally suggested to us by Hungry Jax’s friend Parker, we dove in, mouth first.  After several return visits,  we knew this was a perfect subject for one of our highlight articles.

So here you go, another little secret spot off the beaten path….

HERE’S THE SKINNY:

— The owner is a wonderful lady named Miko Whigham, who along with Chef Sasaki provide a warm, inviting atmosphere with fresh, quality food and prompt service.

— Ariake Sushi Bar is located at 59 Fiesta Lane in Miamisburg , and are open

Salmon Belly – Grilled perfectly

     TUE – FRI  11am-2pm, 4pm-10pm
     SAT    noon – 10pm
     SUN   noon – 10pm

— Ariake’s
specialty is a full Japanese sushi menu of raw sushi rolls, cooked sushi rolls, nigiri (raw fish on rice), and sashimi (raw fish, no rice).  They put the chef’s personality on display with a few original creations like the “University of Dayton roll.”—  Don’t like sushi? There are plenty of other options for you freaks.  Meal sized noodle soups, Chicken Katsu (fried chicken), Bento Boxes of non-sushi options, and fried Tempura vegetables are just some of the alternate food choices.

— If you and a friend are in for sushi, we suggest siting at the sushi bar for an intimate experience, and great conversation with the sushi chef.  If you are in a group of 3 or more, hit the comfortable dining room instead.

Now, drum roll please,  after many visits and trying most of the huge menu, here are our patented “Must Eats” at Ariake !

MUST EATS – COOKED:

— SALMON BELLY: Not what you think.  This was a couple of filets of salmon, grilled with the skin attached.  Perfectly seasoned, slightly crunchy from the charring and delicious.  Chef House deemed this as one of her favorites and we agree wholeheartedly.

The Squid Salad is a “Must Eat”

— SQUID SALAD with SEAWEED:  Here is where you trust us… Food Adventure time…. take a leap of faith, listen to your mouth and not your mind on this one.  Amazing flavor and one of our favorite things that all 3 of us raved about.  We don’t even know what the name for it is on the menu.  We have been there so many times, they brought it out as a complimentary treat from the kitchen.  It is one of the best things we have eaten at Ariake.

— OCTOPUS SALAD aka “TAKO SALAD”:    Yes they call it “Tako Salad,” but is is nothing like taco salad.  Sliced, poached octopus slices in a creamy, spicy mayo sauce.  It is wild, it might seem weird. But it is one of those dishes you say “Wow, that’s really good.”  Go ahead.. go on a Food Adventure.

— THE GODZILLA ROLL:  This is pretty much a deep fried Philadelphia roll, of salmon and cream cheese, with some spicy mayo, and green onion toppings.  This is one of Hungry Jax’s favorite menu items.

— CURRY UDON NOODLE SOUP: A meal sized bowl, it is perfect for warming up your winter blues.  Homemade noodles, spun in-house, make this a one-of-a-kind delicacy like no other.  And ohhhh man the broth, is tremendous.

— CHICKEN  TERIYAKI BENTO BOX:   Pockets of love on your dinner dish.  It is like a tour of Japan on your plate.  From Hibachi Teriyaki Chicken to Tempura Vegetables and Seaweed Salad, this one is a winner.

— KANI HAND ROLL: Just 99 cents and comes with cooked imitation crab, zucchini, and rice, all wrapped in rice paper like a mini bugle.  A hell of a deal, thanks to our friend Jason for pointing this out.

Honorable Mention:

Fried calamari appetizer- You know it’s good when even the kids devour it

Okinawa Soba – Noodle soup with spare ribs on top, perfect in cold weather

Okinowa Soba – Homemade Noodles and Spare Rib Soup

MUST EATS – RAW:

— THE DAYTON ROLL:  One of the most hardcore, meaty rolls we have ever eaten.  Covered in raw ahi tuna, this roll is filling and frighteningly addicting.  This was the Big Ragu’s favorite item.

— SPICY TUNA ROLL: Simple, spicy and full of flavor.  We think Ariake really shines on any item where the main ingredient is Ahi tuna.  Call it their “specialty.”

— SEA URCHIN NIGIRI: Chopped, tossed in spicy sauce, and wrapped in rice paper.  This is the best way we have ever eaten sea urchin.

— UNIVERSITY OF DAYTON ROLL: A huge triangular roll that we have never seen anything like before.  With blue and red fish roe, over the white rice and raw tuna, salmon and yellowtail with avocado.  They try to get the university colors, except for the yellow rice paper outside of the roll.  This is the biggest sushi roll we have ever seen.  Lots of rice, lots of good roe…

The Dayton Roll – so much Tuna

— ARIAKE ROLL: Part raw, part cooked.  Tempura Shrimp inside, Raw Salmon on top, makes this a colorful roll with sauces splashed on top.  Delicious and filling.

— DINNER FOR 2 (SERVED IN WOODEN BOAT): It has raw and cooked items but is a masterpiece of fun.  It is what Food Adventures are made of… from sliced beef, to cooked ngiri, and raw sashimi, this is for people with intermediate sushi experience.

We have been here a lot…. so much that they use our Food Adventure photos on their website…  so much that our friends have been married at the owners previous restaurant.  We have a fun relationship with the owners and appreciate their great food.

Zoot Theatre Company Names Executive Director

February 1, 2016 By Dayton Most Metro

Zoot Theatre Company, a forward-thinking theatrical design company, specializing in puppets and masks, has announced the selection of Emily von Stuckrad-Smolinski as its new Executive Director.

“We are ecstatic to welcome Emily as our new Executive Director.” reported Natasha Randall, Zoot Theatre Company’s Board Chair. “We feel that we have found the perfect person to lead Zoot into its next phase of growth. Emily will bring a fresh perspective, passion and creativity to Zoot, building upon its strengths and deep sense of commitment to our region’s arts sector. She has served nonprofits at all technical levels and has a breadth of perspective and experience. We look forward to what the future holds.”

“I feel that Emily’s love and understanding of the arts and its importance in the community will strengthen Zoot’s presence here in Dayton and abroad. Emily has the enthusiasm and the creative thought to take this unique company on a wonderful journey,” mused Tristan Cupp, Artistic Director.

Emily’s resume includes over 17 years of theatrical and arts management throughout Dayton’s major arts leaders. She spent the majority of her time with the Victoria Theatre Association advancing tours that graced the Victoria’s stage working with IATSE Local 66. She also took great care of the Rike’s Animated Figures. Prior to that, she filled her days at Memorial Hall before the stage fell dark. Emily volunteers with Dayton Visual Arts Center and serves on the Montgomery County Arts and Cultural Board of Directors. She also serves on the Board for Zoot Theatre Company.

“I look forward as I continue to serve and partner with the area’s non-profit organizations in this new capacity,” remarks Emily. “I am dedicated to Zoot Theatre Company because it provides cultural enrichment and enlightenment to our community and is one of the few theatrical touring companies in Dayton.”

Since the enactment of the “Reboot Zoot” campaign in 2014, ZTC has been restructuring itself to put a focus back on collaboration and touring and 2015 showed signs of how strong the company could be in both sectors. With puppets in Town Hall’s production of BUNNICULA, full production design of Mid-Ohio Opera’s ELIXIR OF LOVE in Mansfield, caroling puppets at WOODLAND LIGHTS, a performance art piece called IRRECONCILABLE DIFFERENCES in collaboration with University of Dayton, a stunning original work for TEDX DAYTON, a mini-tour of Miami Valley Libraries for children, and our original touring production of GOBLINS that traveled all over southern Ohio, Zoot is ready to continue the path toward fiscal health and artistic integrity.

We’re excited to announce that 2016 will see Zoot getting back to the roots of what has made it one of the most exciting companies in Dayton. ZTC will be reviving their critically acclaimed AND A CHILD SHALL LEAD as part of a semester long University of Dayton residency with Tristan Cupp. They will also be restoring “Zoot Tales,” puppet short stories that they can offer in an array of venues & prices, continue their legacy of collaboration with the best arts organizations and artists in the Miami Valley and, of course, continuing to add new titles to their touring line-up, playing to an ever growing collection of venues in Dayton and beyond. Breathe n Flow – An Interview With Tori M. Reynolds – Owner, Speakeasy Yoga

February 1, 2016 By Shana Lloyd

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been anticipating with great excitement the opening of Speakeasy Yoga coming this February to downtown Dayton. I had the immense please of interviewing Tori about the opening and what big things she’s has in store! DMM and Dayton are so excited for classes to begin!

Breathe n Flow – An Interview with Tori M. Reynolds – Owner, Speakeasy Yoga – Dayton, Ohio

Q: Tell us a little about yourself, what got you here and what has inspired you most to do business in Dayton?

Tori: I’m a Dayton native and proud of it! I was born here and even though I’m an Air Force brat, I have spent over 20 years of my life living here. I always felt this pull to downtown when I was growing up in Beavercreek. I finally moved downtown a few years ago and have loved every minute of it. It’s vibrant and full of people like me; entrepreneurs who have a vision that can help play a vital role in building the downtown community.

Q: What are most excited about in doing business downtown? What made you decide on the Speakeasy? Location matters, tell us your vision!

Tori: I actually looked at quite a few downtown locations, but to be honest, it’s the old “when you know, you know” type of thing. I saw some spaces that I loved but there was always a catch. Downtown Dayton Partnership had been suggesting The Cannery for months but for some reason I didn’t act on it right away. We finally saw the space in October and from that point things fell into place in a way I can’t even explain, it was like the stars aligned. I’m excited to be in this location for many reasons. I feel like The Cannery is already it’s own little city of people, and located in a perfect spot downtown among a lot of businesses that could benefit from what we’re offering. It is also extremely easy to get to from the highway if you are coming from the suburbs! So really, there’s no good excuse to not join us!

_1550607

Q: Tell us about your classes, can anyone attend? Even if they have never done Yoga before? What skill levels / types of classes will be offered.

Tori: First and foremost, speakeasy is a breath and flow studio. No matter what class you come to, there will be a heavy emphasis on your breath to movement connection. Now even though all the classes are breath based, we do have different offerings. The class we’ll offer the most of is our strong class. This class is a powerful vinyasa flow. Here you get it all, the breath, the challenge, the focus, the sweat, expect to be pushed in a firm but gentle and safe way by your guide when you step into these classes. Now if you’re a true beginner, or need something simpler, we have our simple class. This is a basic class with the same aspects of strong without as much of the fancy flare, meant to build your foundation. We’ll also offer a slow motion class meant to be more grounding and opening, and starter, a consecutive class series offered intermittently throughout the year. All classes will be heated to 90 degrees, and if you haven’t tried it yet, you have to give it a shot!

Q: What’s your niche? How would you say you differentiate yourself from other Yoga studios in town?

Tori: Like I mentioned above, speakeasy is a breath and flow studio, so no matter what class you attend, they all have this consistent foundation. The breath is really the magic ingredient that turns the different postures and transitions into a moving meditation, and what will help you get into a state of “flow” unlike anything else. Whether you are moving through a dynamic sequence with ten postures or holding one hip opener on the floor for three minutes, the breath is hands down the number one priority. At speakeasy we’ll help you keep your breath present more than you’ve ever experienced!

Q: Big picture, what are your long term goals in the Dayton community? What keeps you here and where do you see Dayton if five years?

Tori: Long term goals are an interesting thing. I did a lululemon goal setting session three years ago and wrote down that my ten-year goal was to live downtown and have an urban yoga studio with a big exposed brick wall and lots of natural light. Now I don’t have the kids or the dog I mentioned on that goal sheet, but I am definitely way ahead of schedule with the studio. So right now my five-year goal is to have speakeasy rocking and rolling and for us to be offering yoga in a way that is impactful in our students’ lives. I’m sure so much will change for downtown in five years, all of these new proposed housing developments will be completed and more businesses will open up shop down here. It is really starting to catch fire, it’s a desirable place to be especially if you’re in my position. Really all I can say is that I can’t wait to see what Dayton does become and I am thrilled that I get to be a part of it’s growth.Photo Credit Ben Rivet

and just because I’m nosey….. and for fun of course I asked Tori what some of her favorite places downtown were? To shop, to eat, to grab a drink?

Tori: This is easy. Wheat Penny for food. I actually get made fun of by my boyfriend for how much I love Wheat Penny. For the past 4 years we have been traveling the country teaching our music and yoga collaboration GO W/ THE FLOW, so we were able to eat at some really phenomenal restaurants on the road. For some reason though I would always end up craving a gluten-free, half siciliano/half tommaso pizza and a Basil Smash. For my caffeine fix I go to Press, and pretty much everyday, their space has actually been a big inspiration in a lot of my aesthetic decisions for the studio! When I’m not at Wheat Penny or Press I like to spread the love to the other downtown gems like Lily’s, Salar (their drink menu is the bomb), Corner Kitchen, FUSIAN for some fast casual eats, and BRIM and Heart Mercantile to satisfy my retail desires.

_1550549

Because she inspires myself and so many, I wanted to know the answer to the most cliché question of the interview… who inspires Tori?

Tori: Here’s my cliché answer! More than anyone, my immediate family, my parents, Dick and Joani Reynolds, and my big sister Brittany. Each of them is a leader in their own way, and that’s something I’m learning a lot about. It’s one thing to be my own boss, but to be opening a space that is meant for people to come in and have powerful experiences, that’s a lot of pressure…. in the best way possible. To have that opportunity to create and hold space for each amazing human being that walks through the door is one of the most humbling and exciting things to happen in my life thus far!

Q: Lastly, every one wants to know! What’s in store for the big opening day? Any special festivities planned, offers etc?

Tori: We will be doing an invite-only, “friends and family” open house the Saturday before we start public classes. As much as we would like to invite the entire city of Dayton, we’d probably hit capacity real quick! So the following Monday we will start public classes and everyone is invited! We’re trying to go with the flow as much as possible with the progress of our build out, but have tentatively set February 22nd as our first day of classes. If anyone wants to keep up with the progress, please follow speakeasy yoga on Facebook.

In the meantime, we are offering a special “first 30 for $30” pass. This pass is pre sale only, so once we open, it will be gone! The pass will activate the very first day we start classes, and it will expire 30 days after that. If you buy this pass you can attend as many classes as you want within those 30 days, which is a great deal!

_1550614

This will give you the opportunity to try all the classes offered and figure out what your ideal, weekly yoga schedule will be! You can buy it at www.speakeasydayton.com.

Thank you Tori for taking the time to thrill us even more! Until the big day, Namaste.

DMM Readers- want to win a first 30 pass?  Like this post and comment below on why you show win a Speakeasy Yoga pass an we’ll draw a random winner on Wed night!

The Ballet invites you to Show the Love!

February 1, 2016 By Megan Cooper

I love a good deal. I love downtown. I love our Dayton arts. ShowTheLove

So, I was pretty excited when I saw that the Dayton Ballet is inviting you to SHOW THE LOVE for the February Fantasy performances.

How’s it work? You shop at any downtown business from now until February 14 and bring the receipt to the Ticket Center Stage box office (at the Schuster Center, unless you’re going immediately before the performance). You can get the best possible tickets available (up to a $72 value!) for only $14. Buy your tickets now to get the best seats or go right before the show and get the best that’s still available. The show runs Thursday, February 11 – Sunday, February 14. Any show, any available ticket – only $14 when you show that downtown receipt.

What’s February Fantasy? More information on the show is online at the DPAA web site. With four separate pieces being performed in one night, there’s great diversity and it’ll be a fun introduction to ballet. PLUS, if you’re interested in learning a little something, too – you can attend the pre-show talk that starts 45 minutes before each show.

So – here’s my recommendation for you (no matter who you are):

Do you do the romantic Valentine’s Day celebration? Buy your sweetie something sweet from one of the awesome local downtown shops and then go get tickets. You get extra points for trying something new and being a hip, in-the-know local.

Do you stay away from the saccharine of the pseudo-holiday? Buy yourself something cool (or, y’know, be a pragmatist and just buy lunch) and treat yo self to a great show or plan a friends’ night out (two tix per receipt, so bring more receipts if you have a bigger group).

Do you procrastinate and stay away from making plans in advance? This still works out for you whether you’re planning a date or just looking for something new to do with your group of friends. Head downtown the night of the show, get dinner (or drinks at a local brewery/pub) and wander over the the Victoria right before curtain. Show that receipt and you can STILL get the $14 tickets (best available seat).

This is such a great idea, I reached out to Dave Bukvic from the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance to find out how it came about. He shared, “We’ve got a definite history working together with the Downtown Dayton Partnership. Much of our strategy is in alignment with the vision for growing downtown and showcasing the convenience and quality of all there is to offer. This was a great opportunity to encourage our arts patrons to explore a new restaurant or shop and invite those who are regular visitors to the downtown cafes, stores and pubs to enjoy a performance at the ballet.”

Welcome to Mystery Mondays

February 1, 2016 By Tom Gilliam

DaytongramTom Gilliam  has taken thousands of photos all over the Miami Valley.  You may be familiar with his DaytonGram Account, where he shares some of the most beautiful pictures of our region.  From history to events, DaytonGram is there telling the story and showing you Dayton the way it’s meant to be seen.  Perhaps you’ve attended one of his DaytonGram InstaMeets where he arranges special access for photographers to join him in a photo shoot in places the public usually doesn’t have full access to.  Tom’s love of Dayton is clearly shown through his pictures.

DaytonMostMetro.com is now partnering with Tom to share some more of his photos in a fun and educational way!

“Hello. My name is Tom Gilliam. This is my very first written contribution to Dayton Most Metro. Over the last few years, I’ve contributed photography for various articles and social media for DMM.

Today is the debut of Mystery Mondays. Each week, I will be sharing a photo that I’ve taken in the Dayton area.  We challenge you to tell us where this photo was taken by filling out the form below.  We’ll do a random drawing from all those with a correct answer and the winner will get 2 pizza’s from Rapid Fired Pizza.”

Enter here:   http://goo.gl/forms/dyU55fzc48

We’ll post the winner next Monday, with details about the photo, as well as a new photo to challenge your knowledge of the Dayton area.

Thanks for playing and good luck!

Here’s our Mystery Photo for Week One:
