Lefty’s Eats & Espresso Now Open

April 2, 2018 By Lisa Grigsby

LEFTY’S EATS & ESPRESSOLocated in the center of downtown Fairborn at 2 West Main Street, Lefty’s Eats & Espresso opened their doors late last week. Offering coffee, latte, cappuccino and espresso, they are more than just a coffee shop.

Owner  Lawren Williams, who ran Williams Eatery in Yellow Spring for 10 years before shutting it down, shared his vision with us for a locally owned eatery that offers clean eating, from locally sourced vendors. His place will offer fresh soups and unique flavors on the menu.  You won’t find a deep fryer in his 25 seat restaurant, but his salad and sandwich menu will give you lots of options.   He shared that since opening last Thursday, “I am overwhelmed by the support and positive response that we have received so far.”

Here’s just a sampling of his  menu:

Lefty’s, which Williams shared is named after his father, has booth seating as well as a long communal table inside and will also have patio seating.  He looks forward to meeting his new neighbors and he’s excited for the new energy that downtown Fairborn has.

Lefty’s Eats and Espresso will be open from 6am -7pm Monday through Friday, opening at 7am on Saturday and closed on Sunday.

10 Must Attend Miami Valley April Fundraisers

April 1, 2018 By Lisa Grigsby

Dayton long ago earned a reputation for being a city that gives back. According to the history of the Dayton Foundation, NCR founder and Chairman John H. Patterson championed innovative projects for the betterment of the community. Joining him in his enthusiasm was his sister-in-law, Julia Shaw Patterson Carnell, and nephew, Robert Patterson, son of John Patterson’s brother, Capt. Robert Patterson, all active community leaders in their own right. A leading businesswoman, Julia Patterson Carnell helped establish the Dayton Art Institute by donating works of art, a mansion that served as the museum’s first home and $2 million towards the construction in 1930 of its current facility.

Robert Patterson was a senior executive at NCR and a leader in community affairs. He helped to found the local Boy Scouts and the Dayton Rotary Club and was active with the YMCA, Chamber of Commerce and Miami Valley Hospital.

Today there are over 4000 nonprofits in the region, and to continue the legacy of taking care of our community, there are hundreds of fundraising events to support them. To see our complete list of charitable events for 2018 check our DMM calendar.
