Also joining the menu: the Hail Caesar! This hearty salad includes Romaine, shaved Parmesan/Asiago/Romano cheeses, Croutons, and Caesar Dressing. You can also add Chicken.
Introducing our Build-Your-Own Ricotta Bowl, Bomber Bowl, and Mac and Cheese Bowl for  gluten free fans that prefer No-Dough Bowls.

The cheesesteak, Italian Mobster and and meatball sandwiches remain on the menu.
They’ve also Introduced a Chicken Calzone with Chicken, Mushrooms, and Spinach.

Dayton at Work and Play: Glass Blower Dustin Wagner

May 3, 2024 By Bill Franz

Dustin Wagner of Nyminal Glass in his new studio at 1900 East 2nd Street
This is the best glass blowing studio I’ve ever seen. Dustin has 4 separate glass ovens and lots of production space. In the upper deck, where Dustin is standing in this photo, there is a glass shop and bleachers where you can sit and watch glass blowing demonstrations down below.
Dustin tells me his brother studied glass blowing in college, and taught him the basics 20 years ago. He’s been blowing glass ever since. In his younger days Dustin worked as an assistant to several experienced glass artists. He also did glass blowing exhibitions at Cedar Point, and he taught children to blow glass at several summer camps. More recently he’s been renting time at various glass studios and making product to sell on the art fair circuit. Now, 20 years after he first started glass blowing, he finally has a studio of his own.
When Dustin bought this building in 2021 it needed a lot of work. Before starting on his own studio Dustin put the rest of the building into shape so he could rent it out.
Then he built the space he’s always dreamed of, with room to create, teach, and showcase his own art.
His Grand Opening is today and tomorrow 12-8pm. You should stop in – to check out Dustin’s glass blowing lessons. or to buy some glass art, or just to support a local small business owner doing something cool.

Levitt Pavilion Season Announced

May 2, 2024 By Dayton937

Friends of Levitt Pavilion Dayton is thrilled to announce the 2024 Eichelberger Concert Season. Audiences from across the Miami Valley will enjoy 44 free concerts beginning on May 30 with psychedelic soul band, Monophonics.

This season boasts a diverse array of genres and artists with some new and exciting things in store! New on the 2024 Eichelberger concert season is the Henny Penny Indie Vibe series highlighting artists that embody the independent spirit of alternative and indie genres.

The Levitt Dayton has also added the Amplified Series sponsored by the City of Dayton (formerly known as the City of Dayton summer music festivals).  Now the team at the Levitt has taken over the programming and curation of these events, adding them to their summer concert season. The three Amplified concerts will be held on three Saturdays and begin at 5:30 p.m. instead of the normal 7 p.m. concert start time and feature a DJ, two openers and a headliner, amplifying blues, funk and Reggae genres of music.

Along with these additions, the Levitt Dayton will work with the community to celebrate a Juneteenth concert, a Pride Concert, and two new features added this year; concerts celebrating our veterans and our Indigenous communities.  The Indigenous concert will be held in celebration of World Indigenous Day featuring two Indigenous artists.

“We are all really excited about this season,” said Lisa Wagner, executive director. “We have many returning audience favorites and many new-to-us artists that we can’t wait to share with you! The team has also been working so hard with our community to craft this new season, I’m extremely proud of what we have accomplished together.”

All concerts in the 2024 Eichelberger Concert Season begin at 7 p.m. (with the exception of select dates) and are free and open to the public, thanks to the generosity of the community. Levitt Dayton is located in Dave Hall Plaza in downtown Dayton and features lawn seating. Audience members can bring in their own lawn chairs and food and beverage – including alcohol, although glass is prohibited. There are also food and beverage vendors on site and lawn chair rental is available for a $5 donation.

Levitt Dayton is a non-profit organization that fosters a sense of community by providing free outdoor concerts in the heart of downtown Dayton. The organization firmly believes that music can bridge cultural divides and bring people together, and their concerts are a testament to this belief. Levitt Dayton offers a unique and enriching experience that is accessible to all. Through their efforts, Levitt Dayton has succeeded in creating a vibrant and inclusive cultural scene in the city of Dayton.

10 Riverway Farmer’s Markets You Don’t Want To Miss

May 2, 2024 By GreatMiamiRiverway

I love this time of year; The trees are green, flowers in bloom, bees a-buzzin’, and the legendary Ohio farmer’s markets return to our Riverway communities. There’s just nothing like strolling around farm stalls on a crisp midwestern morning (with an iced coffee in hand, of course), staring out at rows and rows of fresh produce and locally made products.

For me, it’s important to see where my food is coming from, and even more important that it comes from local sources. I want to support my local farmers and communities as much as possible, and choosing to shop farmer’s markets for some of your grocery needs is one way to do that. The produce seems to taste fresher, and it comes with less of a greenhouse gas footprint. Now, that is something worth biting into.

5 Tips Before You Go
Here are some tips on making your farmer’s market trip successful:

  1. Plan to have cash on hand. Some vendors don’t accept credit cards.
  2. Have meals in mind. Just like regular grocery shopping, you’ll end up walking away with more food than you need (or could possibly eat before It goes bad) if you hope to only be inspired upon arrival.
  3. Talk to the farmers. Ask what is best that week, listen to them, and buy that thing. Because they are intimately connected with their crops and lands, they know best.
  4. Bring your own reusable bags. Better for the environment, easier on the farmers, and better for your commute back home.
  5. Go beyond the produce. Farmer’s markets have so much more than fresh, great-tasting veggies and fruits. It’s a place to shop gifts, flowers, locally made honey, spices, jams, meats, eggs, and so much more. Find your new favorite pantry items.
