Bakin’ Dayton: Big Sky Bread Company

June 19, 2019 By Dayton937 Leave a Comment

The Pizza Bread aka Pepperoni Roll

The smell of yeast and baked bread is coming from Far Hills Ave. The place is bustling with regulars, and the crust is not a bust.

Tucked in a small strip mall where Kettering meets Oakwood is The Big Sky Bread Company.  In a world where carbs are under attack, Big Sky Bread Company is thriving .  The staff is friendly and helpful, and the menu has something for everyone’s tastes.  Let us butter you up and take you into this mom and pop business.

Chocolate chip Oatmeal cookies

HERE’S THE SKINNY ON THE BIG SKY BREAD CO.

— Started by a local couple as a franchise in 1994, Mari and Phillip broke off into independent ownership for the last 18 years.

— Known for the very best whole grain ingredients, they use Montana Red Hard Wheat in their baked goods.

— Located at 3070 Far Hills Ave., their hours are:

Monday – Friday:  7am -6pm
Saturday: 7am – 2:30pm
Sunday : Closed

Inside Big Sky Bread

—
They have a bread board at checkout where they offer you a free slice of bread from about 6 menu choices.

— They offer a frequent customer card where you get your 13th bread loaf for free.

— Big Sky Bread Co. will be closed July 10 – July 25th for family vacation.  They close for 2 weeks every summer.

The Cinnamon Roll

— The eatery also has a coffee bar featuring Seven Hills Coffee, bottled juices, milk and soft drinks.

MUST EATS at THE BIG SKY BREAD CO.

OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES:
These are our favorite item on the menu.  Completely whole grain cookies with generous amounts of chocolate chips throughout.  They are not cheap, but they are absolutely amazing.

Blueberry Crumble Muffin

CINNAMON ROLLS:
The cinnamon rolls are fantastic and what makes it is the icing on top.  So rich, so delicious, if you add butter it might just cause an explosion.

BLUEBERRY CRUMBLE CUPCAKES:
The soft,  light topping, the crumbles that bare way to the blueberries inside the muffin.  All this goodness in paper cupcake holder.  Have you ever taken a bite of something so rich, your voice gets lower?  Yeah, that’s this one ….

PIZZA BREAD:

The Croissant at Big Sky Bread

An Italian classic !  In upstate New York they would call this a pepperoni roll, but the Big Sky Bread company calls it “pizza bread.”  It is one of the best pepperoni rolls we have ever eaten.  It is pretty much a bread with pepperoni baked into it.  This will fill you up quickly,

CROISSANTS:
The croissants are fresh and delicious.  Try them with butter and place in the microwave for 15 seconds.. WOW ! Melts in your mouth.

The Orange - Cranberry BreadTHE CRANBERRY ORANGE BREAD:
This is like a moist cornbread with cranberry and orange zest inside.  This is a light, and delicious bite.  This is a nice treat.

WHITE, SLICED BREAD:
Yes, just their plain, white sliced bread is great.  It makes great toast or peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. A sturdy bread to hold up to those cold cuts and cheeses and mustards too !

TOMATO BASIL SOUP:

Tomato Basil Bisque

The Big Sky Bread Co.
usually has a couple of soups on hand.  We think the best one is the Tomato Basil Soup.

TUNA SALAD SANDWICH:
Of the various sandwiches, we found the Tuna to be the best, with Turkey a close second.   The tuna salad is fresh and served cold.  It is the perfect size for a light lunch.

HONORABLE MENTION:  The CHALLAH Bread.  So soft.  Heat it up 20 seconds, and butter this up with some jelly.  Challah, if you hear me !

The owners tell us the pretzel knots are the biggest selling item,

Tuna Salad

Pretzel Knots

Turkey Sandwich

We loved the White Sliced Bread for sandwiches !!!

We loved the White Sliced Bread for sandwiches !!!

Challah Bread

WE loved the white sliced for sandwiches

Garlic Cheese Bread

Garlic Cheese Bread

Soft Pretzel

Muffins

Ciabatta

They were good, but we loved so many other items more.

Check out their menu for yourself.  The staff is very attentive and will help you find anything you need.

The Big Sky Bread Company, a little gem that often gets overlooked.  Discover or rediscover their fantastic items.  We do not accept responsibility for cookie addictions from this point forward.

McCoy on Movies: Men In Black International

June 18, 2019 By Tabari McCoy

“Hey … Is that a green, incredible-looking hulk of a man over there?!” Agent M (Tessa Thompson) and Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) survey their surroundings in Morocco in a scene from director F. Gary Gray’s MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL. Credit: Giles Keyte © 2019 CTMG, Inc. All rights reserved.

WATCH THE TRAILER(S) HERE:

KEY CAST MEMBERS: Tessa Thompson, Chris Hemsworth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rafe Spall, Kumail Nanjiani, Rebecca Ferguson and Larry and Laurent Bourgeois DIRECTOR(S): F. Gary Gray

WEB SITE: https://www.meninblack.com/
THE BACK STORY: As a child, Molly (Tessa Thompson) and her parents saw an alien creature … But when the two men in black suits showed up to neuralize her mom and dad, they didn’t know she saw the alien, too, so she never forgot it. Fast-forward 20 years later and Molly has spent her whole life preparing to join the mysterious agency that tracks the ultimate foreigners to earth – which is why she jumps at the chance to prove herself to Agent O (Emma Thompson) once she discovers the Men In Black (MIB).For her first assignment, Molly – now known as Agent M – is paired up with Agent H (Chris Hemsworth) at MIB’s London office. Trained by his superior officer/London office head High T (Liam Neeson), Agent H is as reckless as he supposedly is heroic, a man that likes to party as hard as he sometimes works. Tasked with entertaining an alien from a planet that could destroy earth, things take a turn for the worse when two beings that may be from “The Hive,” a shape shifting alien race that can basically crush anything in its collective path, shows up on the scene. And now, to avoid an intergalactic incident, it’s up to a rookie agent and a philandering agent to save us all.

THE REVIEW: Me, before the screening: “You know, watching the trailer, it doesn’t seem like Hemsworth and Thompson have any chemistry in this movie.”Friend who shall remain nameless, looking almost taken aback by my comment as if it were absurd: “They were fine together in Thor: Ragnarok.”

Me, nearly two hours after the credits began to roll: “This is NOT Thor: Ragnarok.”

Friend, looking as bored as I was with disappointment in their eyes: “Yeah.”

Chris Hemsworth is NOT Will Smith nor should he ever try to or desire to be as his career up to this point has been pretty phenomenal all things considered. Likewise, Thompson’s star has seemed to be on the up-and-up in recent memory with hits both inside and out of the Marvel Universe to her credit. However, after witnessing the tedious, boring and “let’s go through the very familiar motions without any real emotion for the most part” affair that is Men In Black International (MIBI for short), both Hemsworth and Thompson might be wise to call up Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige and ask if there are any chances to cameo in Disney’s upcoming Loki streaming series. For MIBI is a largely flat, soulless affair that would be better served being left in a galaxy far, far away.

As Thor, Hemsworth has found a great way to portray a powerful individual who can be charming, heroic, serious, focused and at times a childlike jerk that has to be coaxed into doing the right thing/learning how to step up and embrace his destiny. As Agent H, however, he comes off as just a boorish, pretentious, dare I say dumb lout of an individual who you can’t believe in any capacity. H is stale from start to finish, which may not all be Hemsworth’s fault as he isn’t given much at all to work with. It could be worse; Neeson looks to be on site to simply collect a check a’la Michael Caine in Jaws: The Revenge. Tommy Lee Jones (or even Josh Brolin in MIB 3) he is not. To watch Hemsworth and Neeson turn in such poor performances is just mind-numbing, both literally and figuratively.

Thompson, for her part, tries to play things very smart, very smooth and very seriously … Which fails due to an incredibly dull script with plenty of “we’ve been here before!” moments that attempt to capture old magic that just isn’t there. Whereas Smith has moved on to bluer pastures as the scene-stealing genie in the equally underwhelming (but still better) live action remake of Aladdin, Thompson is asked to drive a car down a course we’ve all scene before – this time with a LOT less bells and whistles or even scenery to keep you entertained, or at the very least, distracted.

Sure, her encounter with arms dealer/H’s ex Riza (a very game Rebecca Ferguson) adds a little life to the festivities, but MIBI is loaded with so much bland dialogue and ho-hum action sequences Thompson kind of comes off like the best player on an 0-16 NFL team. Kumail Nanjiani adds some humorous commentary as Pawnee, the helpful little creature that serves as the Frank the Pug to Thompson’s Agent M, but the old “let’s have the cute little creature get involved” routine feels more like a desperation move than essential storytelling. And that’s just it: For a film franchise that pumped out three quality stories, MIBI has zero charm, zero captivating effects and a dearth of heart, emotion or even interesting storytelling to enthrall you.

If it weren’t for Thompson and the small doses of Nanjiani’s character, MIBI might serve as a great cure for insomnia as you could be asleep in the first 40 minutes. Even the nods to the past MIB films feel flat; given how lame the movie is, though, NOT reminding fans about the past is probably for the best. The convoluted, uninspired storytelling under director F. Gary Gray – F. Gary Gray of all people! – is additionally saddening. Why is The Hive so deadly? What is their motivation? How does it tie in to Men In Black? Why aren’t these questions answered better so I can give you a better review?!

You can watch Men In Black: International if you wish … But given how long and tedious it is to build to a very anti-climatic climax you may just wish a neuralizer was real to wipe the movie from your memory as a result.

Ghostlight Coffee Announces Second Location

June 18, 2019 By Dayton Most Metro

Almost eight years after opening the doors of its infamously blue building on Wayne Avenue, Ghostlight Coffee is growing into a second location. Owner and founder of Ghostlight Coffee, Shane Anderson, has signed a lease at 800 South Patterson Blvd, adjacent to Dayton attractions Old Scratch Pizza and RINSE Cycle, and plans to begin work on a second coffee, breakfast & lunch spot set to open in fall of 2019.

The new location will feature an expansive food menu ranging from breakfast sandwiches and “from-scratch” bakery goods to toasts, tartines & salads inspired by international cafes. The shop will have an open, modern feel, with banquettes and cafe tables, sprawling communal tables, and a casual conversation area overlooking the downtown Dayton skyline. Anderson is working with architect Matt Sauer and interior design consultant Ray Zupp to create an inviting space that fits the surrounding neighborhood.

“I want the shop to feel natural to the building and the community,” said Anderson. “The new spot will be a bit more industrial and modern than our current shop because it was built in the 1960’s vs. the 1880’s. This aesthetic felt like the intuitive choice.”

Ghostlight will continue to brew high-quality, ethically sourced coffee from Cincinnati-based roastery Deeper Roots Coffee, as well as a monthly rotation of featured roasters. The new shop will boast a full espresso bar menu, extensive range of loose-leaf Rishi teas, and a non-alcoholic tap selection of iced beverages, including the shop’s signature 24hr. Cold Brew Coffee.

Ghostlight’s existing coffeehouse in the Historic South Park neighborhood at 1201 Wayne Avenue will remain open for business featuring the same coffees, teas, fresh baked goods and grab-and-go sandwiches. The Woodard Development team is set to begin construction on the second location at 800 South Patterson as soon as permits allow.

‘Lizzie’ Review – Human Race Theatre Company – The Dark She Knows Well

June 16, 2019 By Russell Florence, Jr.

It’s been 126 years since Andrew and Abby Borden were gruesomely murdered in their Fall River, Massachusetts home on a relatively uneventful August morning. Their daughter Lizzie would go down in history as the prime suspect, but what in the world could’ve driven her to commit such an evil act with ax in tow? Reasons abound in the aptly titled Lizzie, an electrifying, compelling, disturbing, humorous, and unapologetically bad ass punk rock musical receiving a thrilling local premiere courtesy of the Human Race Theatre Company at the Loft Theatre.

Natalie Bird (Emma), Leslie Goddard (Bridget), Deanna Giulietti (Lizzie), and Michaella Waickman (Alice) in the Human Race Theatre Company’s production of Lizzie. (Photo by Scott J. Kimmins)

Featured at the 2010 National Alliance for Musical Theatre Festival, premiering as a student production in 2012 at Baldwin Wallace University, and conceived with artistic license by composer/lyricist Steven Cheslik-DeMeyer, composer Alan Stevens Hewitt and lyricist/librettist Tim Maner, Lizzie is an in-your-face, slickly irreverent look at a 19th century subject and framework reexamined within a 21st century context. Sure, we’ve seen this before (Spring Awakening and Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson walked the same tight rope in 2006 and 2010, respectively), but it remains an attractive device, especially if musical theatre is to grow by appealing and connecting to a younger generation of artists and audiences open to embracing the untraditional (such as the current, daring and groundbreaking Tony Award-winning revival of Oklahoma!). And it certainly appeals here as microphone stands and hand held microphones heighten the inherent concert vibe fueling the angst, despair, resentment, and longing on display in the vein of Pat Benatar, Heart and Joan Jett among other legendary female rock goddesses. Stifled and silenced by society and disrespected and devalued in her own home, there’s no mistaking the fact that Lizzie Borden was simply driven to the point of no return.

(left to right) Leslie Goddard (Bridget), Michaella Waickman (Alice), Rachel Mary Green (Understudy), Deanna Giulietti (Lizzie), and Natalie Bird (Emma) in the Human Race Theatre Company’s production of Lizzie. (Photo by Scott J. Kimmins)

Skillfully staged with attention to movement and nuance by Human Race Resident Artist Jamie Cordes in his Human Race directorial debut, Lizzie is performed by four outstanding actresses. In the demanding titular role, New York-based Deánna Giulietti, a vocal powerhouse, is a true knockout. Her explosive rage in This Is Not Love, her opening solo detailing Lizzie’s sexual abuse, cuts deep in its heartache and emotional release, strikingly setting the dark, frank tone of the show. Wright State University alumna Natalie Bird, in a welcomed return to the area, is hilarious, biting, tough, and cynical as Emma, Lizzie’s blunt older sister who doesn’t fail to remind Lizzie of Abby’s shortcomings as a stepmother added to her belief that she’s trying to push them out of their father’s will. Emma is underwritten (she unfortunately leaves in the middle of Act 1 yet thankfully returns in proud profane fashion near the top of Act 2), but Bird’s scintillating stage presence is remarkable throughout. In fact, I couldn’t get enough of her during Lizzie’s intriguing if hurried trial (delivering lines with comically unassuming perfection) in addition to the sight of her reverently strolling through the audience alongside Giulietti delectably interpreting the solemn hymn Watchmen for the Morning (imagine Roxie Hart and Velma Kelly singing Amazing Grace in Chicago). Leslie Goddard, who notably appeared as Georgie in the Human Race’s The Full Monty, is enjoyably playful and sarcastic as Bridget Sullivan, Lizzie and Emma’s maid with a lot to say about the House of Borden. Michaella Waickman, a Wright State musical theatre major memorably seen this season as Fredrika in A Little Night Music, beautifully portrays sensitive, vulnerable Alice Russell, Lizzie’s close friend and neighbor who pines for her (tender ballad If You Knew is an Act 1 highlight). This fierce quartet repeatedly joins forces, but special mention goes to the back-to-back brilliance of the Hair-esque Burn The Old Thing Up (regarding Lizzie’s decision to destroy her blood-stained dress) and marvelously investigatory Questions Questions (bolstered by Katie Johannigman’s wonderfully fluid choreography). Rachel Mary Green, a dynamic vocalist who starred in Wright State’s local premiere of If/Then this season, serves as understudy.

Cordes’ splendid artistic team includes scenic designer Ray Zupp (incorporating an effective nod to the Ten Commandments), costumer Liz Bourgeois (providing an attractive mixture of leather, corsets, plaid, and denim for the ladies as well as a cool final look for Giulietti in flashy gold), lighting designer John Rensel (supplying expertly evocative and vibrant work), sound designer Brian Retterer (ensuring top-notch balance and clarity), and music director/guitarist Jay Brunner (assembling a phenomenal onstage band including percussionist Kevin G. Anderson, keyboardist Matthew Ebright, cellist Emsie Hapner, and Joel Greenberg on bass).

Lizzie isn’t perfect, but it’s bold, exciting, raw, and certainly one of the best productions of the season. Don’t miss it.

Lizzie continues through June 30 at the Loft Theatre, 126 N. Main St., Dayton. Performances are 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Sundays. Act One: 50 minutes; Act Two: 35 minutes. Tickets are $37 for adults, $34 for seniors, and $19.50 for students. Prices vary depending on performance date. Select side-area seats available for $14 and $27 at all performances. “Sawbuck Sunday” performance June 16 offers $10 seats available for walk up sales only. Military discounts are also available. For tickets, call Ticket Center Stage at (937) 228-3630 or visit humanracetheatre.org or ticketcenterstage.com. In addition, there will be a post-show discussion following the June 23 performance; Patrons are advised the show is rated PG-15 and contains strong language as well as references to abuse, murder and sexual situations.

McCoy on Movies: The Dead Don’t Die

June 16, 2019 By Lisa Grigsby

Jim Jarmusch brings art house to the zombie world with inspired(at times) but somewhat tedious The Dead Don’t Die

“You best believe Kylo Ren knows how to swing a wooden lightsaber, buddy!” Officer Ronald Peterson (Adam Driver) in a scene from writer/director Jim Jarmusch’s THE DEAD DON’T DIE, a Focus Features release. Credit: Frederick Elmes / Focus Features © 2019 Image Eleven Productions, Inc.

WATCH THE TRAILER(S) HERE:

KEY CAST MEMBERS: Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Chloë Sevingy, Tilda Swinton, Selena Gomez Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Iggy Pop, Sara Driver, RZA, Carol Kane, Austin Butler, Luka Sabbat, Larry Fessenden, Maya Delmont, Taliyah Whitaker, Jahi Di’Allo Winston and Tom WaitsDIRECTOR(S): Jim Jarmusch

WEB SITE: http://www.focusfeatures.com/the-dead-dont-die
THE BACK STORY: The small town of Centerville, Pennsylvania (population 700 and change) is a quiet burg. Chief of Police Cliff Robertson (Bill Murray) is used to the sleepy little town, as is his second-in-command Officer Ronald Peterson and fellow officer Minerva “Mindy” Morrison (Chloë Sevingy). While he occasionally has to deal with calls from local farmer Frank Miller (Steve Buscemi) about Hermit Bob (Tom Waits), Cliff is able to enjoy his days usually grabbing coffee and donuts at the diner where Fern (Eszter Balint) and Lily (Rosal Colon) work and local hardware store owner Hank (Danny Glover) hangs out, chatting with local motel manager Danny Perkins (Larry Fessenden) driving past the local gas station where Bobby Wiggins (Caleb Landry Jones) can be found reciting horror movie knowledge with Dean (RZA). Then again, the town has plenty to talk about since new mortician Zelda Winston (Tilda Swinton) has proven herself to be quite the character given her style of dress, her voice and … Just about everything else about her.

But once local news reports start to talk about the possible effects of fracking throwing the earth off its axis, extended periods of daylight become a regular thing and … Oh yeah, people start getting murdered in the most grisly of ways, it seems as if only explanation can be made: The dead are now walking the earth … And they refuse to stay dead.
THE REVIEW: A zombie movie for people who don’t like zombie movies or a movie that zombie movie fans will probably be bored by, The Dead Don’t Die is a satirical take on a genre that has seemingly run its course. Problem is, given its slow pace, extended scenes that don’t need to be anywhere near as long as they are and a few plot points that are either too silly even for a satire or just aren’t explained at all in a way the average moviegoer will appreciate, The Dead Don’t Die will either live or die with each person that sees it.Poking fun at how easily people set themselves up in zombie movies and occasionally breaking the fourth wall with humorous results, The Dead Don’t Die also fails to do anything out of the ordinary, feeling at times like a snarky homage to and the very type of zombie films it looks to skewer. Whereas Murray is the old grizzled veteran that should have quit as time passed him by eons ago, Driver shines as the young “ok, this is how it is now let’s roll” male lead who is smarter than everyone around him. Likewise, Sevingy is the definition of a screaming, scared female character while Swinton delivers on the fearless potential savior/absolute weirdo with a secret that could ONLY exist in a world like this.

Likewise, while some may revel in his apparent message of consumerism, writer/director Jim Jarmusch’s 12th feature-length film does what he traditionally has been known to do: Explore, exploit and ultimately polarize. While some will revel in the various subtle subtext exploration of the zombie genre and the roles actors play within them before suffering their ultimate fates, plenty will simply the see the film as a lot of waiting around for something to happen with a few funny moments … That ultimately ends in the same place as a majority of zombie movies but in less entertaining fashion. Yes, there will be genuinely funny moments … Coupled with a LOT of “seen this before” and “yeah, I get it but … meh” moments.

At 118 minutes in length, one could make a strong argument that cutting at least 20 of them would immensely help the film’s pacing and storytelling to make sure the audience’s enthusiasm for the story doesn’t fade. Then again, that’s not Jarmusch’s style; it’s a take the good with the bland or leave it approach. When it works, it works well to produce laughter and an appreciation for what he is trying to do; at worst, it’s just another zombie movie relying on its actors’ talents to compensate for a lack of storytelling and/or ambitious storytelling that falls short of the mark it aspires to hit. Again, this is Jarmusch’s style, so you’ll either find The Dead Don’t Die to be exactly what the zombie genre has been missing or at the very least appreciate it for what it is … Or absolutely be bored by it as much many Walking Dead fans have been with the show’s latter seasons (or that less inspired Fear the Walking Dead spinoff).

And while The Dead Don’t Die, it certainly seems like this film is ready for the genre to do so – and it’s willing to do its part to make sure that happens sooner than later.

If they choose, visitors also can paddle through the Five Rivers Fountain of Lights and theRiverScape River Run whitewater feature.

“The new paddlesport rentals are targeted at beginner and first-time paddlers, and the inflatable vessels are designed for those new to paddling to have a fun, successful experience,” said Sam Davis, Five Rivers MetroParks regional manager of business operations. “The rentals will help introduce people to an outdoor recreation activity that helps them enjoy a healthy, active lifestyle and connect with nature — right in the heart of downtown Dayton at RiverScape MetroPark.”

Whitewater Warehouse will provide visitors with brief instruction prior to entering the water, which will include a safety tutorial. Whitewater Warehouse staff also will help visitors get into their vessels and will be in the river to help guide those who paddle through the RiverScape River Run whitewater feature.

All visitors will be required to wear a properly fitted lifejacket, and those who paddle through RiverScape RiverRun will be required to wear helmets. Both will be included with the rental, along with other safety equipment.

Swimming is prohibited in the Great Miami River, but visitors should come prepared to get wet.

“The Dayton region is home to many great places to enjoy paddling, and this new RiverScape Rentals option will allow more people in our community to experience this outdoor activity,” RiverScape MetroPark Manager Meredith Adamisin said. “For a minimal investment in an environment designed for success, people can give paddlesports a try and enjoy the unique regional amenities of RiverScape MetroPark, such as the Five Rivers Fountain of Lights and RiverScape RiverRun.”

“The paddlesport rentals also will show people how easy it is to paddle whitewater right here in downtown Dayton,” Adamisin added. “We hope visitors will go on to explore other paddling programs and opportunities with Five Rivers MetroParks.”

Visitors must be at least 8 years old and weigh at least 50 pounds to participate. Children ages 8 to 13 must paddle with an adult in a tandem kayak. More information about age and weight requirements, along with other details, is available at metroparks.org/rentals.

The paddlesport rentals join RiverScape Rentals’ existing bike and child accessory rentals.

Corner Kitchen 6 course Argentinian Wine Dinner

June 14, 2019 By Lisa Grigsby

On Sunday, June 23rd Corner Kitchen will open its doors to host a multi-course wine dinner featuring wines from Argentina’s iconic winery, Bodega Catena Zapata.

Bodega Catena Zapata, is a historic family winery,  currently managed by third and fourth generation vintners Nicolás and his daughter Laura Catena. Nicolás Catena Zapata is known as the man who revolutionized Argentine wine in the 1980’s, by focusing primarily on quality, and spearheading the re-entrance of Malbec – the French varietal that had been almost completely forgotten by the rest of the world – into the world of wine.

The iconic Catena family winery, a rock-clad pyramid nestled in the foothills of the Andes mountains, produces wine from five estate vineyards. Special lots within the family’s high altitude vineyards – Angelica, La Piramide, Domingo, Adrianna and Angelica Sur – are the essence of the Catena wines.

Free Doritos Locos Taco Today!

June 14, 2019 By Dayton Most Metro

The Golden State Warriors may have lost the NBA Finals, but their Game 2 win in Toronto means everyone wins a free Doritos Locos Taco.  Just show up  today  at Taco Bell today from 2-6 p.m  thanks to the  “Steal a Game, Steal a Taco” promotion you’ll get one free taco, no purchase necessary.

Of course, you may want to give yourself enough time before heading over in case there’s a long line. The deal is sadly not available via delivery services.

The nationwide taco party is the result of Taco Bell’s annual “Steal a Game, Steal a Taco” promotion, which is now in its fourth year. The deal was officially triggered when the Warriors beat the Raptors 109-104 in Toronto in Game 2 of the championship on June 2. In the lead up to the game, Taco Bell promised free Doritos Locos for everyone in America — and, for the first, Canada — in the event that the away team wins — or “steals” — a game on the home team’s court.
